I have not owned, used or even seen a 1D yet. I have read of the banding issue in other forums and it does indeed seem to be a very serious issue. I am hopeful that Canon addresses it quickly and effectively. They will have to IMO, or suffer serious loss of market share to the other brand.
I waited long for this camera. I appreciated it would not be cheap although its price is in line with what the competition has been charging. Certainly I will not be buying one until the banding issue has been successfully addressed. Still, I have hopes. I understand earlier Nikon digitals suffered from a very similar image quality issue and the problem was succesfully handled in short order. As for the user interface: Michael's is the first opinion expressing dislike. Others have raved that, despite the banding issue, the 1D is the finest camera they have ever used. It is too early to give up on this camera. > From: Michael Quack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > I'll definitely skip this one.
