I use this lens with a Cokin P modular filter system.

With this setup I have to take care to align the filter
holder horizontally.
There seems to be a little vignetting in the corners which is not
visible on mounted slides.

I have also a slim Heliopan polarizer which causes no vignetting at all.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:
If vignetting is a possible problem, you can use a step-up ring and a larger
filter. This was a must on my 28-135 USM lens. However, with the 24mm Canon
lens I did not have to use step-up rings with my Cokin P System. john
