As Chip has already said, "If there is a * next to the AE button then it's
OK to use lithium cells with your EOS 1n"

I used them for a while in order to save a little weight. I stopped because
they go flat with little or no warning. It was not uncommon for the
Booster's battery check to show full power at the start of a roll, then shut
down before the end. If I was lucky(?) the drive speed would drop, for a few
frames, before stopping completely.

I've not used them for about two years, so their characteristics may have
changed.
