Hi Nick,

You can't go wrong with the selection of glass you chose to buy now, 28-70mm
f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 IS. Not sure about the extender though, i'd prefer to
buy the 100-400 f4.5-5.6L glass instead. I remember reading a review of a
70-200mm IS with 2x extender compared to the 100-400 f4.5-5.6L glass. The
conclusion was made that when the lens is wide open the latter lens was
sharper.

17-35mm F2.8L is discontinued by Canon recently (Australia), but you can
still buy it new practically everywhere. A lot of people complained that the
lens was soft wide open (2.8-4). The new 16-35mm f2.8L glass is superior in
this department, as well as being more ruggedly built than the former glass.
I have yet to test this lens out though.

If only Canon officially announced the rumoured 24-105m f2.8 IS L lens at
the upcoming PMA showin 2 weeks time, id be first in line to try it out.

Another rumour is the 200-400 IS DO lens, Delta International has this lens
listed when I was at the site last nite!

Newer does not always mean better or sharper. 35mm can only go as sharp,
none of my L glass beats my Contax 645 in terms of sharpness and enlargement
capability..

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Ethan
