The VR limitation is due to the need of 5 AF points.
Can't comment on the AFS one. But I think it's the same for the AFS, I
have heard that the contacts used by both VR & AFS are the same. Thus
impossible to have both in the same lens. In making a "G" lens with no
ring aperture shows, _perhaps_, another evolution of the way tho build a
lens for Nikon.
