$400 is a good price if its in realy good condition with all accessories. However, the G2 has some noteable improvements over the G1 (and costs about $750 new). I'm a bit disappointed with my G1 in that its not 100% compatible with EX flashes and it sucks at focusing (both aspects were improved on the G2). However it does take good pictures.
