I miss it too. It was there every time I used ECF... but on my EOS 3, my
hand is really never close to that button, so in a way it's never there. I
also wished that EOS-3 would still have that - but at the same I realized
that is was "easy" to do on EOS 50e as the other points were on the one
horizontal line thus a glance up from that line (doesn't really have to be
very accurate) would activate DOF preview. Very fast to use (Only problem
was that you could not control the duration of the DOF preview.) and very
reliable. But on EOS-3 there are AF points in many rows, so adding DOF
preview to the corner might not have been that easy to get to work.

But to be honest... I do not use DOF preview that much - so I do not really
miss that feature. On the occasions that I do use DOFP I'm usually on the
tripod (macro, landscape) or I just check it once for many consecutive
shots, so I can manage with the strangely positioned DOF preview button on
the EOS-3. (Am I the only one who has problems in finding that one button?
All other buttons are ok. I don't seem to have a suitable finger on my right
hand to reach to the DOFP button and I do not hold my left hand that close
to the camera body usually... only when using 50 f/1.8 :-) )

Best regards,
 Hugo
