I have a relative who worked for Canon years ago.  All the early version
that Canon used for displays, at shows, etc. were destroyed.
I am not making this one up.  My brother in law actually has a pre-release
F1 which is good and bad.  There was no switch for shutting the battery off
in that one so he had to install a micro switch.  On silly point: The way I
was told they are destroyed is someone takes the models to a closet and then
uses a hammer to destroy one at a time.  The F1 was a rescued camera.
This person is long gone from Canon so no chance of getting an EOS.
