Why do you question somebody's preferences and choises that much? Some
people like wide angles, others don't. Some people might even look for the
longest lens possible all the time. Stitching images does not work for
anything else than at least somehow planned shots, which do not contain
movement. For other times, if you like wide angles, you will need wide angle
lenses. Cropping on the other hand is much easier... ;-)
