Jim,
Whilst I needed to get my Sigma 17-35 repaired, and most of my lenses are Canon
and trouble free, I have had failures with Canon. Two aperture motors have
failed (out of warranty), and my brand new 100 f2.8 USM macro suddenly developed
a very loose lens hood mounting ring shortly after getting the lens hood for it.
My new PB-E2 failed after about 20-24 exposures and again was repaired under
warranty.
So if you haven't needed to use Canon's repair service, I'm envious! (I've got
2 lenses away at the moment being repaired.)
