Not to worry you, but in the 'Everything EOS' pullout in the September 2004 issue of EOS Magazine, they show it as discontinued. ie Greyed out, and no list price shown. As it also fits the MP-E 65 lens, I don't see how it can be.
The latest 300 f4 IS lenses, and others, are now supposed to come fitted with this tripod ring, although when I bought mine 2 years ago (after the changeover date) it was still the old style.
Perhaps it is now counted as a spare part, and not an accessory.
