Easy - put the 550 in an appropriate position off the camera, maybe as a bounced side fill light, or how about a nice three-quarter backlight? set the 550 to 'slave' and fire away with the using the 10D's own pop-up flash. Wouldn't recommend it though - direct on-camera flash is horrific IMO. A very cost-effective solution would be to find a good used 420EX to use as your slave and keep the 550 as a main light ?
