I like my 20D grip for the heft it gives the camera. I find it alot more comfortable. But, it isn't vrey secure. The camera wobbles on it, and while I don't the ERR 99 associated with grip flex, the camera does lock up with it on and I frequently have to remove and reconnect the grip to force it to work again. The 5D grip works much better. No idea about the 30D grip.
