Subject: EOS recommended lenses for trip?
Hi everyone--
I will be shortly leaving for several weeks in Eastern Europe
(probably mostly cities--Prague, Krakow, Budapest), and am looking
for recommendations on equipment. The body is a 5D, and I'm
thinking of limiting myself to a 28-70, and a 1.4 TC. This is what I
did on my last "vacation" (Portugal and Spain), and I didn't regret
not having a longer lens, but I had a 10D then.
Other option would be a 70-200, and a 17-35.
Recommendations?
Thanks
matt
Hi Matt,
I haven't visited Eastern Europe but I'd imagine the scale and opportunities
similar to the towns and villages of Northern Italy where I found a 35mm and
24mm very useful, and even a 17 at times (on an EOS3 film). In the UK, I
normally carry a 24mm with my 5D, 35, 50 and 70-200 f4L.
Don't get a Canon 1.4TC as it will not fit behind your zoom lens. You'll
need one without an intruding front element. My Tamron 1.4x is OK in this
respect.
Enjoy your trip.
