Hi Steve,

Some thoughts.

We could pick one area, such as "agile governance" and have a goal to
create a practice for that area - brainstorm around how portfolios of
agile projects can be governed in an agile fashion.

Another idea would be to work on a broad area, such as:
        - what are the important differences in processes that software
engineering needs to have, and can we encapsulate those in practices?
        - what are the "process patterns" that drive these differences?

Another idea would be to address a topic like Agile CMMI - and start
working on how to meet CMMI requirements while remainig agile. The tie to
OpenUP would be to identify what practices we might minimally add to be
CMMI compliant.

[epf-dev] ICSE 09 Workshop

Hello Everyone:

One of the action items that resulted from the recent Vancouver F2F is to
propose an "OpenUP" workshop for International Conference on Software
Engineering (ICSE) 2009 which will be in Vancouver next year. The intent
behind such a workshop is to raise the profile of OpenUP and EPF in the
academic and industry community. One problem, I am have a difficult time
trying to dream up an engaging workshop for this. What should the focus
be? Probably needs to be greater than just OpenUP and EPF. So what unique
and generic category would we like to create here? Do we look at OpenUP
and EPF as an example of "Adaptable and Scalable" processes? So what are
some of the issues? And most important, who wants to be on the program
committee? I am assuming that I can count on most of the committers, but
we will need to drag in a few name brand academics who work with UP
processes - I have one name in mind :-) but we need to think up a few
others.

I just need some suggestions. The deadline for submitting workshop
proposals is Sept 15th, but it is considered polite if you can let the
program chair know that you are planning to sumbit a proposal early. I
would like to have some ideas by the end of next week. And that is all I
need right now, just some ideas. I can work out a proposal after that.

best regards,
Steve Adolph_______________________________________________
