I think it's going to choose the first version in the file, so if that's
16x16 it ought to use it.
The gtk+ bug is http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65902 .
That's the really strange part. From what I can tell, looking in Gimp and looking at naming of the images inside, it's picking the second/middle one of three, which doesn't make any sense at all unless it is specifically looking for size 32x32 (which would be outright wrong). 16x16 *is* the first one, from what it looks like.
