Some more general comments: Is there a solution? What is the reason to change address bar behavior comparing to 2.14? I can see the following problems (I feel it must have been discussed, but I can't find it in the list archive): 1. Users outside the USA might expect autocomplete to append their domain (like .pl or .de) and not .com: I have tried several popular Polish addresses (big portals, online bookstores, online banks) and NONE was correctly resolved using .com. You might say that it's their fault: should have bought .com too... And register trademarks worldwide... 2. Some might (well, I'm only speculating here) expect the most popular/obvious site to be contacted (just go to gnome.com). This problem is probably most evident with a clean install: no bookmarks, no history, no hints when you type in an address. 3. When I put a space between words I get an error (that an url is not valid). If searching the internet from address bar is not a desirable default (I can understand that), appending .com neither is, especially when you don't visit .com sites that often. I still think that advantages of epiphany outweigh this problem, I can change my habits again (changed from firefox only recently), but .com is just wrong idea in my opinion.
