Use debian Sid, it's not unstable. The name is just to keep trolls away.

- dist-upgrade your system.
- Then apt-get build-dep epiphany-browser.
- Then check 
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/reports/keyword-search.cgi?keyword=gnome-love&product=epiphany
and
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=epiphany
- Then try to fix something you find reasonable
- Ask questions in #epiphany
- Become a hero
