No. It hasn't been possible to do so any more since Gnome 3.0. See this
bugzilla issue: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145244
It looks like the GTK+ devs are willing to consider a patch if
implemented like Alt+scrollwheel.
