Hi,

No, it's not intentional: please file a new bug report. We're getting
several bug reports regarding the new bookmarks UI [1][2][3][4][5], so
seems it was a good idea that we merged it at the beginning of the
cycle and have several months to work out these problems.

Thanks for testing it out! It's encouraging that several different
people have built the code from git master, even before the first
development release.
