Anyway....as to the topic of Revolution.... in an "earlier life"... I was taken by the "political" writings of Niccolo Machiavelli,... the French-English-U.S. Revolutionaries and some of the Communists...Bakunin, Marx, Lenin, etc....you know, the standard ones....there would seem to me to be an intellectual or theoretical clash being played out between at lest two "directions" in political theory ... the geopolitical as distinguished from the revolutionary, I call them....Do you have any thoughts on this? I see the Geopolitical direction as being driven by the interests of the established "powers" in their attempts to obtain or advance their goals upon other less developed entities... and the Revolutionary direction as being driven by the interests of the disenfranchised to establish "powers" of their own ... I know, broadly sketched... call it the haves and the have nots.....It seems to be playing out all over the globe... especially in the Middle East with the Arab Spring... but it may also be having a less explosive iteration within the established "Western" power societies, themselves, and elsewhere....I always like to see the Geopoliticians get their "top-down" plans subverted and toppled....It always seems to come as a surprise to them.... HAR....
