I'd suggest filing a bug in likewise open so that they start their
service sooner, so that other services that need group access like
epoptes work properly.
To manually work around the problem until it's solved in likewise, check the
update-rc.d command, e.g.
sudo update-rc.d -f likewise remove
sudo update-rc.d likewise defaults 10 90
