This is another factor influencing the observed behaviour of the sample project I haven't understood yet. I'll see if I can find some time to strip it down to a small test case so you can better judge whether it's a bug. If the but is that bundles wiring to system packages which are part of the Java execution environment are not getting found then, yes this is the proper fix.
