Andrew, You might double check the wings. Though they may look like metal, they may be fabric with a very good finish my wings were often mistaken for metal. Probably they are metalized which is a shame, especially on a 415-C. Metalizing the wings costs 38-40 lb. for the pair and with a gross weight of 1260 lb., thats a lot. You could lighten it in all other ways, remove instruments, upholstery side walls, smaller battery and such to get a workable useful load for Sport Pilot flying. Somewhen down the road, Id want to swap wings for fabric wings. In rebuilding the ercoupe.org website, Mitch hasnt yet gotten all the links back up. You can get to some of the key articles by going through my websites Ercoupe page, which has links to the EOC websites actual pages.
