Very interesting!!  I flew my Alon from Grand Junction to Denver through Corona Pass, once, but with the load I had, I didn't have the courage to visit the nice folks that live in Telluride!  You are exploring the envelope of adventure in the great traditions of private flight.  I also am encouraged that you did so with proper flight planning.  Keep up the good work, Richard, and show people that a properly maintained and carefully planned Ercoupe adventure is still possible, Thanks for the pictures, and Congratulations!!

Subject: [COUPERS-FLYIN] Telluride

We know I am not the brightest guy on the block or is that crayon in the box.   I showed this when I took 904 in to Aspen a few years ago, but this time I even out did myself.  I took 904 in to Telluride at 9078 msl.  I not only got in, but I got out.  I have posted some photos and text at
http://www27.brinkster.com/n99904/images/Telluride/what_a_rush.htm.  To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it in a Coupe.  Density altitude was about 8,300 ft.  It is amazing what cold weather can do for you.
