In case you’re curious why you got repeats of Bill’s messages, the
answer is easy but confusing.
I’ve been upgrading my home PC and had four day’s worth of grief getting
it working.
Though Bill is a member of the mail lists, his local ISP sends his mail
to the lists with the address in a new anti-spam format which the list software
doesn’t recognize – so Bill can’t send messages to the lists.
To keep him in the loop, I’ve set up an autorelay rule in my computer so
when he sends special messages to me, they get auto forwarded to the lists.
With my computer down all week, I’ve hand-forwarded most of his messages
but I wasn’t sure I had gotten them all. Today, when I got the autoforwarding rules working again, I told
it to re-process the week’s messages.
Sorry for the duplication.
If anyone else is having problems with sending messages to the list
while receiving is OK, please let me know. If there are a lot of you, we might be able to justify the
fuss involved in fixing that software.
