Guys.
I noticed the discrepancy too.
But notice the tail number on the fins showing this mysterious split elevator.
It's NX3075H. The Ercoupe in the other pictures is NC94768.
The mysterious split elevator is the one from the 4 place Coupe.
The rudders are biiger on that one too. It seems that the editor of the magazin did not pay too much attention to the detail and printed the one from the 4 place Coupe. An article which the probably phtographed too when already in the factory.
I remember that someone found some parts of the 4 place Coupe and tries to build it as he thinks a 4 place Coupe should be.

Danny,

I’ve never seen a split elevator like in that advertisement half way down the advertisement.  That may have been an early photo, preproduction for the split elevator.  All of them I’ve seen look more like you’ll see in pictures N5459F, N6353V or N1569Z on

http://www.ercoupe.net/M1/PhotoAlbum.html

None of these are close-ups but you can see that the center of the split elevator is cut out on all these.  That’s how the split elevator was sold for all the planes from 415-E on up.
