Hi all, Some of the Insurance  Co's  are not pilot friendly they make up  premium by charging extra for those of us that are risky pilots- to underwriters anyone  with less than 200hours and no instrument rating and flies little during the year and is overweight by their standards is charged more than the average rates.Remember the co is in business to profit and they will. I sell a pilot friendly contract. My own Co isn't premium friendly on our pilot rates either. But we broker  some that are. Ins is rather  strange at times read your policies.Remember also the contestibilty period as well -- 2 years unless  there are specific exclusions.Dennis ercoupe564 in Ill

Hi All,

I just found  that the life insurance I bought last year (my better half’s prerequisite for me getting the Coupe), that was supposed to cover me when flying, doesn’t.  The salesperson screwed up and I caught it when I started reading the policy (better late than never, I guess).  I got a bid from PIC, but wondered if any of you has shopped around for the best plan.

Happy flying to you all,

Marty Duke
