I would remove the airspeed indicator and send it to one of the rebuild shops advertised in Trade a Plane.
Personally, I think he's full of it!
Don't forget, this is just my humble opinion!

Subject: [COUPERS-FLYIN] Alon Airspeed Indicator

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

My indicator failed yesterday, Alon A2, 1965. The mechanic inform's me two instrument shops need to confirm what instruments are approved for this aircraft. He say's he has never had this problem before. Apparently the FAA is giving shops problems, including fines, for replacing instruments not specifically approved for that aircraft.Part number F51127. Any siggestions?
