Richard,

Thanks for the info.  However, she was asking about an Alon A2.

She was probably trying to tax him based on ads like this.  This seller doesn’t say anything about Cherry condition.  For $35k, I’d want to be competitive for best in show at the next flyin.

Yeah, I think Coupes are generally undervalued.  If Sport includes them IN, you’ll all get a big boost in price (and I’ll cry crocodile tears at having sold mine).  Anyone who sells a Coupe in the next month or two before he outcome of Sport is known could be very unhappy afterward over the lost money.  At least there’s a chance of it.

Rumor had it that the original max gross weight for Sport was chosen because someone at the FAA thought that was the gross weight of Coupes.

A report from one of the EAA staff people directly involved in Sport, in conversation with the FAA lady in charge of Sport was:  EAA: “I won’t be happy with Sport unless the gross weight is increased.”  FAA: “You’ll be happy.”

I told the FAA in my Sport NPRM comments that the Coupe was the EXACT type of plane they wanted to have for Sport.  I said they should include all planes “characteristically incapable of spinning” at or under 1,600 lb. within Sport.

I’m also betting the FAA didn’t listen to my sage advice.  Still, one hopes for miracles, sometimes.  And then, there’s the very real chance OMB will block Sport entirely saying the current fat ultralight wink and nod just ignore them system should continue since it’s worked pretty well for two decades.  Then there’s the chance the FAA will get hissy and start enforcing all the ultralight / certification rules (with what staff and budget someone asks).

Ain’t life interesting this spring/summer?

Ed.

N6362V is registered to a RICHARD LALLMANG in UNION HALL, VIRGINIA  which is in FRANKLIN.

My records show it was advertised with the following: Airframe: 2325 TTSN,Powerplant: 468 SMOH(Continental C90-19A, 90 HP, 1800 TBO)Overhaul Included ECI Cermichrome Cylinder Assemblies with New Pistons and Piston Pins, Lifters, Bearings Seals and Gaskets $34,900 (04/03)

But that was over a year ago and who knows what he paid for it.

You know I am glade to see some people are trying to get $25,000 to $30,000 for a 415.  Maybe the prices will come up, but I doubt it.
