Stephen.

To answer your questions:
1. Rudder pedals- commonly viewed as good, or bad?
Some like rudder pedals, some don't, some praise them as good enough to
slip
the plane down to the runway, some say they are not effective .
You need to understand the original intend of Fred Weicks design. The
rudders are linked to the ailerons to keep the plane coordinated in
turns,
thus avoiding uncoordinated stalls and resolving spins. adding rudder
pedals
removes that linkage and effectively the coordination in turns.
With that in mind I think rudder pedals don't belong in a Coupe. At least
not
in a Coupe of a Beginner. The other thing is that they take up space and
that makes up for uncomfort on long distance flights. Last but not least,
adding rudder pedals to the coupe is as much as putting a 96 engine in a
67
Mustang.

2. 0-200. Who's done it, and what was the performance difference you
actually noticed from a C75 or C85?
Again some people love their 0-200 and some don't care. You have to change
a
few things when converting to the 0-200 . One thing is that the O-200 has
no
provision for a mech. fuel pump, so an electrical one has to be added. You
need some extra wiring, lamps and maybe switches on your dashboard. Not
good
when you want to keep the plane original.
The 0-200 gives more climbed and nothing against that. The prop is a
shorter
one than on a 75/85 engine and the machine runs faster - which I believe
will make it wear faster too, but that's just me.
If you find a Coupe with a nice running 75 or 85 engine, I do not see a
reason to change that unless you live in a place that is surrounded by
huge
mountains.

3. What do the metalized wings weigh?
Presumably the metalizing adds 10-20 pounds each wing.

The yellow bird has been sold, and I'm seeking a D model right now.

I do have a couple of questions for the group:

1. Rudder pedals- commonly viewed as good, or bad?
2. 0-200. Who's done it, and what was the performance difference you
actually noticed from a C75 or C85?
3. What do the metalized wings weigh?

Looks like with the increase in value of the C, I'll be able to buy a nice
D
and have a few bucks left over. Probably not as nice of a paint job, but
I
wasn't after one like what I got anyhow.

Thanks in advance, folks!
