I have flown "over them thar hills." From Roswell via Ruidoso and
Alamagordo.
Around Whitesands reserved air space to Las Cruses and on to Arizona.
Thence
to Barstow and Needles (everybody's motor home breakes down in Needles,
don't
they, Wayne). Then accross the desert and up the central valley by
Fresno.
Through the pass by Mt. Shasta (Magnificent!!) and to Ashland, Oregon.
Last
stop Salem.
Ercoupe 415-C w/Continental 85 HP.

Seriously the mountains aren't that much of an obstacle, and we left
coasters have a LOT to offer.
I wonder if we couldn't put something together????
