After a Summer in which my computer was boxed up in the hangar and then a
move to a new house, I have finally unpacked it and gotten back online.

We are now living on a small grass strip with our two coupes -- Mr. Bill
Nagle has four coupes and our resident college student Scott Young is here
with his coupe so we have a total of SEVEN coupes on one strip. As I
figure it, that's one tenth of the coupes of this year's nationals. (and
we were all there)

Anyways, the airport is Newman's field (4N0) just West of Kalamazoo, MI
and stop by anytime. It is a newly developed (and developing) residential
airpark. All my neighbors on my side are into Helicopters and we need to
show them that we need a looong runway!! We do have 2700' Bill
Nagle's rules are - you must do a low pass before landing to remind
everyone that this is an airport!

my wife Jenn and I have taken over as Michigan Wing Leaders for the EOC at
the request of Marv and Ruth Dunlap, who are rebuilding the four place
coupe, coincidently. We are standing in for Lee Koopsen who is not doing
so well health-wise. Lee has an Alon and has always been willing to fly
at the drop of a hat. Anywhere, Anytime. If you mentioned ANY strip in a
three state area, Lee could tell you who lived there, what they fly, and
get you invited to dinner. He is a real treat to fly with as he is an
aerial historian and tour guide rolled into one, and had friends almost
everywhere who he could call and they would run out and drive us to the
best restaurants. Lee is the kind who would give you the shirt off his
back. In fact he gave my wife one of his flying jackets, which has been
worn by Charles Lindberg, Earnest Gann, Jimmy Doolittle, and various
astronauts.

Sadly, Lee has bone cancer and is in too much pain to climb into his plane
right now. If you know Lee, you know that that is a LOT of pain. His
prognosis is not real favorable, but he is doing radiation and we pray
that will help.

Lee is of the old school, WWII vet and doesn't have the internet. If
anyone out there can send him a get well card or other cards of
encouragement, it would be greatly appreciated. His address is: Lee
Koopsen 201 Raintree Circle, Kalamazoo MI 49006.

Thanks for any assistance .- and now I must go join the Tech side of this
to get some answers on a cowling problem.
