bob,

just an addendum to the discussion of the various data on the "correct"
static rpm-range. i just read in a 1960 stc-document for a 415D with
C90-12F and a mccauley 1b90-cm7152 propeller (stc from skyport) a static
rpm of 2075-2175. even lower than the rpm-range you reported from the
alon-manual. even given the fact that the pitch of 52 is greater than
your 50, a low static rpm under 2175 seems to be ok at least for some
engine/prop combinations.

the stc claims, that start+climb performance etc. is "equal or better
than with a C-75 at all altitudes/temperatures" but gives no data to
amend the original manual.

hope this information is helpful

yours,

holger zinke
