Hi All::

I have made cross country flights in Ercoupes/Aircoupes both with and without rudder pedals, and my preffferance would be without!  I managed to teach the rudiments of flight to  a young mechanic on a flight from Denver to Oshkosh.

One point that was brought up in this discussion that worries me, are the holes in the spar web for the rudder cables to pass through.  I do recall this setup on a coupe I owned in the past.  Isn't this a No-No?  I remember we removed the pedals, but I do not remember what we did with the holes in the spar web.

Just some thoughts.

Subject: [COUPERS-FLYIN] rudder pedals

Everytime I fly into an airport up here in New England, there is always a person that will come over and ask two questions.

The first question is "What year was she built?"       Followed by -

     "Does she have rudder pedals?"   After I answer "no" the next response from the person is always  "good."

By the way, this is a new e-mail address for me.
