----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- An interesting side note to what you've saidÂ….I am amazed at the perception
people have of our Coupes. Anytime I talk about them, people always have
the belief that you can't land a Coupe in a cross wind. I of course always
set them straight. But, I have to wonder if the KC 135 also lifts
the trailing wing as it touches down and aligns itself with the runway.
Or, as I've heard on some large aircraft, do the landing gear actually turn so
they're straight with the runway even though the aircraft is pointing a
different direction? Can't imagine they remain straight with the
centerline of the aircraft, there'd be a phenomenal amount of force applied when
it touched down if they weren't pointed down the centerline of the
runway.
