The Alaska Air National Guard keeps four Coupes in Alaska for training. Apparently the new KC 135 tanker fan engines are so close to the ground that slipping them in to a landing is not an option. As a result they use the Ercoupes to train pilots so they will get used to crabbing onto the runway.
