It's been both in Arizona and Nevada in my memory. It has also been in Colorado. I'm sure others know of western venues. Three years ago it was in Texas. Does that count as 'West?' Michigan is west of me, but other than Ted Nugent, isn't exactly 'out west.' >I'd like to make next year's convention, but a cross-continent flight is a >tall order. Maybe we could meet in the middle next time! How about Iowa? That's the slated locale of the 2004 confab. Just fly till it gets flat, keep going a ways, and hang a left at the nuthin' Puts you right on downwind. One nice thing about the whole of the heartland once you pass Denver is that it seems like one big emergency landing strip. The other nice thing is that the section lines tell you the cardinal directions with near perfection. Finally, the deal with these conventions is that anyone who wants to (or some would say, particularly their wives 'is dumb enough to') volunteer to organize it can have it.
