Hello from sunny Arizona! 8/10 How's the weather in your neck of the woods? How hot is it there? Would you believe that here the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground? That the trees are whistling for the dogs? The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance. Hot water now comes out of both taps. You can make sun tea instantly. You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron. The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly. You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window and you will actually burn your hand opening the car door. You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m. Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?" You realize that asphalt has a liquid state. That the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper? That farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs? That the cows are giving evaporated milk? You're crazy if you own any other car color than white. Gloves are worn to protect yourself from a scorching steering wheel. You don't have to microwave left-over coffee, it stays hot all day. You always have hot towels to dry off with, but why bother? You'll air-dry in seconds. Peanut butter needs kept in the refrigerator. Your home looks like a cave with heavy drapes drawn keeping out all sunlight. Better yet, place aluminum foil on the inside of all windows against the glass. Then try reading in the dark. Butter melts if left sitting out. You pray your electricity doesn't go off. If you thought ahead, you have a portable generator. Those poor people without air conditioning or evaporative coolers have fans in every room, but are still hot! Phoenix is expecting record breaking heat again today. God willing, the monsoons will come soon bringing us relief with clouds and rain. Have a cool day! ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers/
