Ercoupers;

My name is Tim Briggs and I live in San Diego, California. I'm in the
process of buying my first aircraft - a 1950 Ercoupe 415G. I found it for
sale up in Las Vegas. It's owner restored it over a 2 year period (it was
his second Ercoupe restoration) and he did a fantastic job. The plane
looks, feels, smells and flys like brand new. His restoration was well
documented with photos and his log. The plane was a basketcase he found
lying around some airport near Las Vegas.
If all goes well, I'll pick her up on January 3rd and fly her to her new
home at Brown Field here in San Diego.

If you'd like to see it, here is a link:

I took her up for a test flight about a week ago and it was a blast. It
is
a fun, fun plane to fly. I like the feel of the airplane and balance of
the
controls. I did some figure 8's and it really turns on a dime. This one
has a Continental O-200 and a Sensenich metal prop with only 60 hrs SMOH.
It climbed out at nearly 700FPM with half fuel and the two of us on board.
It was indicating almost 120MPH flat out at 3,500.

I do have some questions I was hoping someone out there could answer.

1. Is there an A&P or experienced owner in the Las Vegas area that you
would recommend for a pre-buy inspection?
2. Is there a CFI in Las Vegas with Ercoupe experience? My insurance
company wants me to get 1 hour of instruction in the plane. Obviously,
I'd
prefer someone with experience.

That's it for now. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tim
