Since it appears that a very large percentage of 'coupe owners & flyers are
veterans; I offer the following:

"Now, Therefore, I, Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the
United States of America, do hereby call upon all of our citizens to observe
Thursday, November 11, 1954, as Veterans Day. On that day let us solemnly
remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas,
in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and
let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so
that their efforts shall not have been in vain."

Sitting at a stop sign and someone lets you go first, you mouth the words
"thank you.

Someone answers a question, we say "thanks."

Another person opens a door, "thanks"....

All day long we tell people "thank you", I guess that's why it sounds so
simple, even cheap and meaningless. Unfortunately, I do not know of a word
in the English language that can adequately express my appreciation to those
who have protected our liberties. Just believe that my, "THANK YOU" is
sincere. May God bless you and may God bless America.

TT

PS

For those of you who feel this message is out of place, thank one of the
afore mentioned people for your right to speak that feeling. After that,
you may bring one any criticism you want.

You put it very well Tom. I too greatly appreciate the service of man and woman who has ever worn, current wears, or ever will wear, the uniform of the United States. As a disabled American, unfit for duty, these brave individuals stand in my place, and I that is a gift I will never take for granted.

Thank You Veterans.

Guys and gals,

Thanks for letting me know that the list was down. I noticed it was quiet
for a few days preceding Saturday and resolved to watch it.

But overnight, sciatica attacked me with imaginary knives and I was totally
in bed till Tuesday evening and couldn't get to the computer till Wednesday
evening. I zipped a message to Tom through an alternate e-mail service.

Tom found that the DSL modem had failed and he had to go buy another one.
All is well.

Though I'm still bed-ridden, it gets better each day and the next step in
treatment is in the works. Please, don't send condolences to me because I
can't manage enough sitting upright time to read them.

But thanks for the alert message you sent me on the list's problem. They
made the difference.

Tommy,

That's a good and appropriate message on Veterans Day. I liked it. Thanks.

I just listened to the President's Veterans Day speech. I'd recommend
everyone put effort into reading a full transcript or listening to it in
full. Don't accept sound bites from this speech. It's really good.
