When my guy, Cody was about 18 months old. I installed a sideways facing
rear seat similar to the optional kiddy seat in the 415 G model. I used an
approved child seat that would normally be used in an automobile, and the
seatbelt was anchored to the rear spar. I made one flight with the seat
and child installed, while we were preparing to submit a 337. I decided
that the height of the seat, and the location thereof would not be survivable in
a roll-over accident, so I abandoned the whole idea, and removed the rear
seatbelt. Cody did fly with me in the right seat with an ordinary car seat
buckled in till he got up to about 60 pounds. then we went to a cushion
and the regular seat belt. Of course, during all this time we had to leave
Grandma home. She didn't like that.
