Here are the weight & Balance calculations on my coupe, using
actual weight from scales on the nose and main gears....
Weight & Balance computation for Ercoupe 415-C (modified to a
D), N-93530, s/n 853, after John Wright, Jr. rebuild...January, 2003.
A. Using these distances from the datum (firewall) I calculate the following:
Weight arm Moment
Nose weight 247 -25 -6175
MLG weight (both) 688 44.5 30616
totals 935
less oil 4 qts -7.5 -14 -105
Totals: 927.5 26.238 24336
Empty Weight CG: 927.5 lbs @ 26.238
Specification A-787 ; D model : Empty Wt. C.G. range: ( +26.2 to + 27.2) "When empty weight falls within this range, computation of critical fore and aft G.C. position is unnecessary".
B. Then for a check; adding oil, gas, baggage, and people to make 1400 # GW:
Empty weight: 927.5 26.238 24336
Oil 7.5 - 14 - 105
Gas, nose tank 36 7 252
Gas, wings 108 25 2700
Baggage 65 57 3705
People 256 37 9472
Total 1400 28.82 40360
Fully loaded C.G. falls within the Spec A787 limits of +26.8 to +30.4.
