Measure the hole diameter, go to your local ACE hdwr and pick up a common rubber plug. It snaps in almost flush.

When mine was lost, I successfully used a piece of duct tape to seal the hole till I could get a replacement.  It’s been 25 years and I have no idea where I got the replacement – it might have been that the FBO/mechanic at my airport had one in stock.
