Posted on Fly-UL, this merits cross-posting.  This is certainly something I'd share at a fly-in and is something you might do in your Coupe (though you can't match a trike's wide-open view downward, a Coupe would sure beat a spam-can).

Jeff has made some in-the-air movies from his trike that are really worth viewing.

This last one, Monument Valley, part 4, is especially nice.

You broadband connected people should watch it.  You dial-up people who are patient and have a reliable connection may want to.  It's a 60 MB download for about 10 minutes of video.

Subject: UL: Monument Valley - Part 4 - Return at jeffsflightlog.com

Hi everyone,

Monument Valley: Part 4 Return is on my movie page.

Just go to http://www.jeffsflightlog.com  and click on the "Movies" button.

The weather forecast that morning was for strong winds, and

a 20 mph cross wind conditions after 2pm at the Belen airport

(my home base). I wanted to get on my way as soon as possible

and not get trapped on the ground by tailwinds like what had

happened on Saturday.  My trike was refueled and prepped the

night before.  Damien and I got up extra early and I ended up

taxing out to the end of the runway at Monuement Valley

25 min before sunrise.

I let the engine warm up for 5 minutes then took off and headed

into the rising sun.  I actually was in the air so early I had

to linger east of Monument Valley for 10 minutes waiting for the

sun to rise.  The predawn and sunrise lighting on Monument Valley

was fantastic.

The winds aloft were about 20 mph west so I circled over

Monument Valley, slowly drifting downwind and watched the

sunrise.  25 minutes after launch I had drifted to Comb Ridge,

a 200 mile ridge that forms the eastern boundary of Monument Valley.

The sky was clear and blue, the air crisp and cold, and desert

wilderness stretched out in every direction.  It was a moment that

I will never forget.  I radioed goodbye to Damien and turned

downwind with a 20mph tail wind to start my journey home.

I covered the ground so rapidly, I made it in one shot without

refueling, reaching Belen in a little over 4 hours.  This flight

stands as my all time most spectacular flight.  In addition to dawn

over Monument Valley, I saw additional desert wonders including

"the Sandworm" and Canyon de Chelly.

I hope you enjoy the show.

You may notice I added Google ads to my webpages.  I tried to make

them as unobtrusive as possible. So much so that some of my friends

didn't notice them at all until I explicitly pointed them out

to them (that's probably not the optimal way to do it).  If you

liked the show and feel like applauding, but don't know how to do

this over the internet, you can do so by clicking on a few ads.

I believe I saved the best for last.
