With the side windows up, no rain will get in the coupe while flying. Well,
at least the occupants won't see any.
However, when parked, or flying, rain will run down the side windows and
into the center section of the plane and there is only a small 3/16" drain hole
to let it out.
If that hole is plugged up with dirt, oil soggy dirt, a dead bugs, or
anything else, the water can collect in the center section and we all don't want
that.
If the plane is parked outside, ALWAYS put a canopy cover over it so that
the rain is deflected over the window sills.
Regardless of the canopy, pull up the floor of the baggage compartment at
least twice a year and check the holes under each section of the fuselage to
make sure they are clear.
You can check them weekly by crawling under the plane with a toothpick and
poke it in each hole to see what comes out.
Disclaimers:
Never fly with the canopy cover on.
do not re-use the toothpick.
