Dan...

The wing Leader job in NC is still fun.  When I first accepted it three years ago, many cautioned me not to become discouraged if nobody showed at at our Fly-Ins.

So far I've hosted five with a six coming up September 9 at Laurinburg/Maxton (MEB).  At our last one, we had 12 coupes from VA, NC, SC.  Since there is now a wing leader in Va. (Harry Francis) there should be even more opportunities between the two of us.

I'm eager to help do more in SC...which is one of the reason I co-host an event at the Laurinburg / Maxton airport.  It's right on the SC border.  Although this Fly-In is an Ercoupe Owners Club sanctioned event, we do encourage other types of aircraft to attend.

Sorry everybody about the use of the word "jerk."   Two wrongs don't make a right.

As Ed said, welcome to the list JE!    How's the Wing Leader job in NC?  Is the NC group active, and does it mix with the Virginia Group?  My brother-in-law & sister are stationed at Langley AFB (last assignment before his retirement), and I may move out there some day with my Ercoupe....

Although it did not offend me, the post from Ron was a bit off-topic and a little off color.  I can understand the terms used could be offensive to some, just as many of us find our tax burden to be offensive(!) at times.

Using the term "girlie-boys" (even if meant in jest) was not likely to be well received, and may have prompted the use of the term 'jerk'....which is where I sincerely hope it all stops.  As Syd suggested, politics & religion (& the orneriness that often follows) are probably better addressed somewhere else.

On to more pleasant topics!!!

GORGEOUS plane Syd !!!
How many Ercoupes flew into OSH in 2005?
I hope to follow into OSH again some day soon (68H & I followed you into OSH in 2003).
How does it look so far for the Coupe, Cub, Champ & Chief Fly-In???

How many plan to attend the Nationals in Texas this year, or the AZ Wing Ding this weekend?
