Howdy all.

I was talking with a gentleman who has his 'Coupe for sale. Owner is selling it as a 415-D. FAA registry says it's a 415-C. Owner says all his paperwork shows the plane is a 415-D.

Is it a C (light sport) or a D (not light sport)? Does the FAA registry have the upper hand despite the paperwork?

Is this something I'd need to worry about to fly as a sport pilot? Would it need to be re-certificated by FAA? If so, is that a major (and costly) process?

Thanks.
Tom
