Hi everyone,
As many of you know, I have this need to log a landing on at least one airport in each of the lower 48 states before I get too old or too broke to fly.  I will be starting my trip around the United States on Oct. 1st.  I call it my "Grand Adventure".  The Ercoupe named "Honey" and I will be coupe camping around the US.

I will be calling as am able when I am in your area.  We will not be on any set schedule.  I told Bev, my wife, that the trip could last up to 6 weeks.  "Honey" is a slow flyer and I have to see the ground at all times. (after all.....this trip IS to SEE this country.)

Our speed around the country will be dictated by the weather and the wind gods and the Home Land Security People (after all....it is an election year and certain people will be campaigning around the country)  For you non pilots, the last item listed above creates temporary no fly zones where ever those certain people choose to be.

For whom ever is interested our route is planned to be:
SVE, S30 (OR), HQM (WA), S78 (ID), RIW (WY), BHK (MT), BPP (ND), SFD (SD), BBW (NE), K82 (KS), EVU (MO), FOD (IA), AEL (MN), EFT (WI), 3KK (IL), PPO (IN), JYM (MI), 5A1 (IO), OYM (PA), N89 (NY), PSF (VT), VSF (NH), LCI (ME), SFM (MA), SFZ (RI), 4B8 (CT), N05 (NJ), 0N4 (DE), 0W3 (MD), 6L4 (WV), PBX (KY), VJI (VA), 6A4 (TN), 7A8 (NC), LQK (SC), OPN (GA), 1J0 (FL), 4R3 (AL), 1R7 (MS), TVR (LA), AGO (AR), ADH (OK), DUX (TX) RTN (NM), CEZ (CO), 66V (UT), 0V7 (AZ), 0L7 (NV), IYK (CA).

The above route is subject to change but it gives a general idea of our zig zag around the country.  Also, there will be many stops along the way for breaks and fuel (Honey and I are both good for a maximum of 2 1/2 hours at a time) and visits to people and places.  One place I just have to see is the geographic center of the US which is located close to Smith Center, Kansas near the northern border of Kansas.  We will be using my son Frank's place in NY as a base to get to the New England states and the area in and around the Wash DC areas where there are many no fly zones.

That's it for now,
Bob Deaton and 1946 Ercoupe N3047H  "Honey"
