I'm going to try to send this again. I don't think it got through last time. Hi Folks, I was most fortunate to be able to join 4 other 99s and the owner/pilot of a beautiful Piper Seneca last Saturday. We had a glorious but too short trip from our foggy northern CA coast to the hot, dry CA Central Valley. It's only a short hop over the mountains. It is always a temperature and humidity shock for me. Redding was 85-90 F and very dry. We just left the foggy coast at 45-50 F and humid. Pilot had to do an IFR departure. Fog layer was thin. We were out of it at 1200' AGL. We were met at Redding Muni by several 99s. We enjoyed lunch with them at the airport and then we were chauffered to Redding's new Sundial Bridge and park. The Sacramento River runs through Redding and evidently the fishing is not too bad for those interested. While I was watching, a couple of fishermen in a boat on the river caught quite a large sized fish. Rainbow trout. Yum! The trail system that Redding is developing is quite nice. Redding has done a wonderful job in opening up river access and public recreation. Now if it only wasn't so damn hot there! I was happy to get back into the air conditioned Seneca and head for our nice cool coast. I have never been in a twin before, so it was a special treat for me. Comfy seats, although I could do with a bit more leg room. And so quiet in the cabin that we passengers could talk to each other without headsets and in a normal voice. That was a surprise to me. But then, like I said, I have never been in a twin, let alone such a deluxe one, so I didn't know what to expect. I would have liked to have been in the right seat, but it was more appropriate for the one other person who is instrument rated to be there, just in case. It has been far too long since I've been able to fly in any capacity so I am delighted for the opportunity. Cheers, Spook ============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
