It seems that it's possible to participate in a list without "joining" or signing up with Yahoo. On my Ercoupe web page, I've now got a sign-up link for each forum. A person need only put in their e-mail address and click the button. Yahoo will send a confirmation e-mail to that address and it's necessary to reply to that e-mail (or otherwise follow the directions in the message) and your membership in the list will be confirmed. But, with this e-mail only participation, you may not have full "membership" in the list with access to the pictures, polls, or other items that are related to full membership. The Yahoo message said: Your email address has been added to the email list of a Yahoo! Group. To gain access to all of your group's web features (previous messages, photos, files, calendar, etc.) and easier control of your message delivery options, we highly recommend that you complete your account by connecting your email address to Yahoo account. It is easy and free. Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/ I think that when you signup with Yahoo, it also creates a Yahoo e-mail account for you. That's not a bad thing. It's an address you could use as a primary (a lot better than Hotmail) or you could use it as a "junk" address you give to suspicious websites when they insist that you give them a valid e-mail address. Anyway, membership in Yahoo lists is pretty easy.
